How To Use The New Directions Hydrating Hair Mask with Hairdresser Sam Overton

This hair mask combines the powerful cationic conditioning agent Behentrimonium Chloride with our biomimetic hair lubricant and scalp hydrator, Natural Hair Texturiser. Brought together in an easy-to-spread paste this mask can be used in place of your regular conditioner or can be used as an intensive treatment mask or even as a leave-in for extra dry or curly hair.

Dispense a small amount onto the palm of your hand, approx 10c piece is enough for short to medium length fine hair with more needed for different hair types.  Spread through the palm to warm it up and coat your hands with a fine film and then work it through towel dried hair starting around 3cm from the scalp to the ends.  For extra dry scalps you can gently massage any remaining product into the follicles, if your hair tends to be greasier, concentrate on the dryer parts of the hair such as the ends and mid section.

Customisations:  This mask can be scented either with essential oils or perfume.  In addition, clients can experiment with our range of liquid extracts, other hair actives such as Crambisol, Vitamin F or Vitamin B5 (panthenol) or add some of our speciality oils. Additional customisation is possible, but we advise clients experiment on small batches and carry out application and stability testing prior to launch.

Chemistry Origin: This product is predominantly made from naturally derived, sustainable raw materials but does contain a safe-synthetic preservative system (phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin).  The isopropyl alcohol is at trace levels as it is a component of the behentrimonium chloride.
